Our indexes reflect changes in residential and commercial property values in Chania, Crete on a monthly basis. That’s one of the benefits of an appraisal-based index; we don’t have to wait for transactions to be completed.
We place more weight on high-quality properties, e.g. a new detached house in Agios Mathaios, Chania has a much greater impact than a suburban detached villa in Drapanias, Kissamos. Most property indices in analytika are equally-weighted.

What are Residential & Commercial Property Price indices?
Residential & Commercial Property Price Indices (RCPPIs) from analytika, also called Property Price Indices (PPIs), are index numbers measuring the rate at which the prices of properties (plots, apartments, detached houses, maisonettes villas, etc.) purchased by households are changing over time.
Both new and existing listings exposed to the local and international reale estate market are covered, independently of their final use and their previous owners.
Where can I download RCPPIs data?
RPPIs can be downloaded from the dataset "Property Prices and Related Indicators". Four different datasets are available:
- Chania Residential Property Price Indices (CRPPI dataset)
- Chania Commercial Property Price Indices (CCPPI dataset)
- Analytical Property Price Indicators (APPI dataset)
- Forecasting Data (FD)
Which areas are covered?
Analytika contains data for Chania City, Platanias, Agia Marina, Nea Chora, Akrotiri Area, Apokoronas, Kissamos, Plaiochora and Sfakia.
Can analytika data be trusted?
Our indexes apply a statistical Big Data method, to the various sources of data on property price and attributes to produce price change estimates.
It is advised that low number of sales and real estate transactions in some areas can lead to volatility in the estimates at these levels. Areas with low number of sales transactions or availability of data should be analysed in the context of their longer-term trends rather than focusing on comparables.
