Residential property prices show an upward trend
Chania Residential Property prices reached a low in October 2016, they have followed an upward trend since then, reaching a new record level in October 2021. Compared to the low in October 2016, residential property prices were over 25.00 percent higher on average in October.

1. The housing market shows resilience in 2021 despite the economic impact of the coronavirus crisis.
2. The highest price increases are observed mainly in Chania City, Chrissi Akti and Akrotiri Area and in areas of interest for tourism investments, which has an impact on other areas.

Our indexes apply a statistical Big Data method, to the various sources of data on property price and attributes to produce price change estimates.
It is advised that low number of sales and real estate transactions in some areas can lead to volatility in the estimates at these levels. Areas with low number of sales transactions or availability of data should be analysed in the context of their longer-term trends rather than focusing on comparables.
